Brief description of study.

This protocol aims to determine if a specifically designed piece of personal protective equipment, a specially designed piece of plastic which fits into a specially designed t-shirt, which will hopefully help decrease both subject and caregiver concern about damage occurring to the implanted cardiac device. It is also hoped that by using this device, subjects will increase physical activity and gain more confidence regarding physical activity.

Detailed description of study

This protocol aims to determine if a specifically designed piece of personal protective equipment, a specially designed piece of plastic which fits into a specially designed t-shirt, which will hopefully help decrease both subject and caregiver concern about damage occurring to the implanted cardiac device. It is also hoped that by using this device, subjects will increase physical activity and gain more confidence regarding physical activity.

Eligibility of study

You may be eligible for this study if you meet the following criteria:

  • Conditions: pacemaker
  • Age: 100 years or below
  • Gender: All

This study investigates the use of a specially designed piece of personal protective equipment for individuals with implanted cardiac devices. The equipment includes a piece of plastic that fits into a specially designed t-shirt. The purpose is to reduce concerns about potential damage to the cardiac device.

Participants will wear this protective equipment to see if it helps them feel more confident and increase their physical activity. The study will monitor the effects of the equipment on the participants' comfort and activity levels.

  • Who can participate: Adults aged 18 and older with implanted cardiac devices are eligible to participate. Key eligibility factors include having a stable cardiac condition and being physically capable of increased activity.
  • Study details: Participants will be asked to wear the specially designed t-shirt with the protective plastic insert. The study will observe if this equipment makes them feel safer and more active.
