Study on Social Interactions and Decision-Making
Brief description of study.
This study aims to better understand how interested and disinterested partner feedback at various points during a social interaction influence decisions to engage in sexually coercive behavior with a partner who ultimately does not wish to engage in sexual intercourse. Further, this study will examine how affective and behavioral responses are influenced by the presence or absence of alcohol, individual differences in emotion regulation, expectations for sexual activity, and subjective evaluations of the hypothetical female's behavior in a written vignette.

Inclusion Criteria

- Report being sexually attracted to females
- Be currently residing in the United States
This study investigates how feedback from a partner during social interactions can affect decisions related to sexually coercive behavior. It looks at how being interested or uninterested in a partner's feedback during these interactions influences such decisions. The study also examines the role of alcohol, individual differences in managing emotions, expectations about sexual activity, and personal evaluations based on a written scenario.
Participants will be asked to read a vignette and provide responses regarding their feelings and behaviors. The study aims to understand how these factors interact and influence decision-making processes. Complex terms like 'emotion regulation' refer to how people manage and respond to their emotional experiences.
- Who can participate: Participants must have a Prolific Academic account and be sexually attracted to females. They should currently reside in the United States.
