Brief description of study.

The purpose of this study is to compare the optical properties of a commercially available scleral contact lens with those of modified scleral contact lenses as they may be utilized in developing novel refractive technologies.

Eligibility of study

You may be eligible for this study if you meet the following criteria:

  • Conditions: Healthy
  • Age: 18 years - 100 years
  • Gender: All

Inclusion Criteria

Visual acuity best correctable to 20/25 or better for each eye

Exclusion Criteria

An active condition (ocular or systemic) which may prevent scleral lens wear
Unwilling to wear scleral lenses
Pregant persons will not be permitted to participate in the study.

This study investigates the optical properties of commercially available and modified scleral contact lenses. Scleral lenses are large contact lenses that sit on the white part of the eye and can help improve vision in certain conditions. The study aims to explore how these lenses can be used in new refractive technologies, which are methods to correct vision problems.

Participants will wear both types of scleral contact lenses during the study. The study will compare how these lenses affect vision and eye comfort. The lenses are specially designed to test their optical properties, which means how well they focus light into the eye.

  • Who can participate: Participants must have vision correctable to 20/25 or better in each eye. Individuals with active eye or systemic conditions, those unwilling to wear scleral lenses, or pregnant individuals are not eligible.
  • Study details: Participants will be required to wear scleral contact lenses during the study. The study will involve comparing the optical properties of different types of lenses.
