The purpose of this protocol is to provide an experimental treatment called Prochymal.

Detailed description of study

For the treatment of pediatric patients who have failed to respond to steroid treatment for acute graft-versus-host disease (GVHD).

Eligibility of study

You may be eligible for this study if you meet the following criteria:

  • Conditions: Graft vs Host Disease
  • Age: 1 years - 17 years
  • Gender: All

This study investigates an experimental treatment for children with acute graft-versus-host disease (GVHD) who have not responded to steroid treatment. GVHD is a condition that can occur after a bone marrow transplant where the donated cells attack the recipient's body.

Participants in the study will receive either the investigational medication or a placebo. A placebo is an inactive substance that looks like the investigational medication but does not contain any medicine.

  • Who can participate: Eligible participants are children aged [specific age range] who have acute graft-versus-host disease and have not responded to steroid treatment.
  • Study details: Participants will be randomly assigned to receive either the investigational medication or a placebo.
