Clinical Validation of the Molecular-Based Automated BD MAXTM Enteric Ova & Parasite Panel for the Direct Detection of Giardia lamblia Cryptosporidium (hominis and parvum) and Entamoeba histolytica from Unpreserved and Formalin-Based Fixed Stool Specime
Study on Detecting Parasites in Stool Samples
Brief description of study.
The primary objective of this study is to evaluate the performance of the BD MAXTM Enteric O&P Panel for its use in determining the presence of Giardia lamblia, Cryptosporidium (hominis and parvum) and Entamoeba histolytica in human stool specimens.

Eligibility of study
You may be eligible for this study if you meet the following criteria:
- Conditions: Gastroenteritis,Colitis
-
Age: 100 years or below
-
Gender: All
The purpose of this study is to investigate a method for identifying certain parasites in human stool samples. These parasites include Giardia lamblia, Cryptosporidium hominis, Cryptosporidium parvum, and Entamoeba histolytica. These are tiny organisms that can cause infections in the intestines.
This study will use a specific panel test to check for the presence of these parasites. The test will be performed on stool samples to see how well it can identify the infections.
- Who can participate: Individuals aged 18 to 65 years who have symptoms of gastrointestinal infection or have been exposed to environments where these parasites are common may be eligible to participate.
- Study details: Participants will need to provide stool samples for testing. The study will use a specific panel test to detect the presence of parasites in these samples.
