Eligibility of study

You may be eligible for this study if you meet the following criteria:

  • Conditions: Glaucoma
  • Age: 100 years or below
  • Gender: All

This study investigates the levels of cilia in the eye tissue of patients who are undergoing surgery for glaucoma. Glaucoma is a condition that affects the eyes and can lead to vision loss. The study will compare cilia levels in normal eye tissue with those in tissue affected by glaucoma. Cilia are small hair-like structures that can be important for eye health.

Participants in the study will have ocular tissue samples taken during their glaucoma surgery. These samples will be analyzed to measure the levels of cilia. Additionally, human eye bank eyes will be used to provide baseline measurements of cilia in normal ocular tissue.

  • Who can participate: Participants must be undergoing surgery for glaucoma and be within the age range of 40 to 80 years. Other criteria include no history of other major eye diseases and willingness to provide informed consent.
  • Study details: Participants will have ocular tissue samples taken during their glaucoma surgery for analysis. The study will also use eye bank eyes to measure normal cilia levels.
