The purpose of this dissertation study is to interview 20 African American young adults and 6 African American adolescents to investigate the processes of managing depression and mental health treatment utilization by depressed African American adolescent

The purpose of this dissertation study is to interview 20 African American young adults and 6 African American adolescents to investigate the processes of managing depression and mental health treatment utilization by depressed African American adolescent

Eligibility of study

You may be eligible for this study if you meet the following criteria:

  • Conditions: Depression
  • Age: 100 years or below
  • Gender: All

This study investigates how African American adolescents manage depression and use mental health treatments. Depression is a mental health condition that affects mood, causing feelings of sadness and loss of interest in activities.

Participants will be interviewed to understand their experiences with depression and the ways they seek and use mental health treatments.

  • Who can participate: The study includes African American young adults and adolescents. Participants must be experiencing depression.
