Brief description of study.

The purpose of this study is to learn what types of life goals pediatric cancer survivors have and to understand how the pediatric cancer experience affects patients' life goals when they are adolescents and young adults.

Detailed description of study

The aims of this study are to examine the relationships between life goal appraisals and psychological outcomes in adolescent and young adult (AYA) pediatric cancer survivors, describe the life goal pursuit/adjustment processes for those survivors who report that cancer had a high impact on their life goals, and explore how the process of life goal pursuit/adjustment is different for survivors based upon their appraisals of their life goals.

Eligibility of study

You may be eligible for this study if you meet the following criteria:

  • Conditions: Cancer
  • Age: 18 years - 30 years
  • Gender: All

This study investigates the types of life goals that pediatric cancer survivors have and how their experience with cancer affects these goals as they become adolescents and young adults. The study aims to understand the relationship between how survivors view their life goals and their psychological outcomes.

Participants will be asked about their life goals and how they have adjusted these goals following their cancer experience. The study will explore differences in goal adjustment processes based on how survivors appraise their life goals.

  • Who can participate: Eligible participants are pediatric cancer survivors who are transitioning into adolescence or young adulthood. Specific age criteria and other eligibility factors apply.
  • Study details: Participants will discuss their life goals and any adjustments made after their cancer experience. They will be asked about their psychological outcomes related to these life goals.
