The purpose of this study is to examine the relationship between exposure to sexualized depictions and self-objectification through the framework of the Limited Capacity Model of Motivated Mediated Message Processing.

The purpose of this study is to examine the relationship between exposure to sexualized depictions and self-objectification through the framework of the Limited Capacity Model of Motivated Mediated Message Processing.

Eligibility of study

You may be eligible for this study if you meet the following criteria:

  • Conditions: Healthy
  • Age: 100 years or below
  • Gender: All

The purpose of this study is to investigate how seeing sexualized images affects how people view themselves. This study uses a specific framework called the Limited Capacity Model of Motivated Mediated Message Processing to understand this relationship.

Participants will be exposed to various depictions and their reactions will be measured. The study aims to see if these depictions lead to self-objectification, which means seeing oneself primarily as an object to be looked at.
