A Randomized Phase II Study of Individualized Combined Modality Therapy for Stage III Non-small Cell Lung Cancer (NSCLC)
Investigating Treatment Options for Stage III Non-Small Cell Lung Cancer
Brief description of study.
The purpose of this study is to determine how well erlotinib hydrochloride or crizotinib and chemoradiation therapy works in treating patients with stage III non-small cell lung cancer.
Detailed description of study
The purpose of this study is to assess whether patients with unresectable local-regionally advanced non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) treated with targeted agents based on molecular characteristics have a longer progression-free survival than those treated with standard care therapy alone.
Eligibility of study
You may be eligible for this study if you meet the following criteria:
- Conditions: Non-small cell lung cancer
-
Age: 18 years - 100 years
-
Gender: All
This study investigates how well certain treatments work for patients with stage III non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC). NSCLC is a type of lung cancer that grows and spreads in the lungs and nearby areas. The study looks at using investigational medications along with chemoradiation therapy, which is a combination of chemotherapy and radiation therapy, to see if it can improve patient outcomes.
Participants will receive either the investigational medications or standard care therapy. The investigational medications are chosen based on the molecular characteristics of the cancer. The study aims to see if using these targeted treatments helps patients live longer without the cancer getting worse.
- Who can participate: Participants must be adults with unresectable, locally advanced non-small cell lung cancer. They should be suitable for treatment with chemoradiation therapy. Other specific eligibility criteria were not provided.
- Study details: Participants will be assigned to receive either the investigational medications based on molecular characteristics or standard care therapy. A placebo is not mentioned in this study.
