Brief description of study.

The purpose of this study is to review our experience with patients who had indeterminate lung nodules that were evaluated as PET-negative, and underwent either pathologic examination or at least two years of followup with serial chest CT examinations, and determine the likelihood that these nodules will be diagnosed as cancerous.

Detailed description of study

The purpose of this study is to review our experience with patients who had indeterminate lung nodules that were evaluated as PET-negative, and underwent either pathologic examination or at least two years of followup with serial chest CT examinations, and determine the likelihood that these nodules will be diagnosed as cancerous.

Eligibility of study

You may be eligible for this study if you meet the following criteria:

  • Conditions: Cancer
  • Age: 18 years - 100 years
  • Gender: All

This study investigates the likelihood that indeterminate lung nodules, which are PET-negative, will be diagnosed as cancerous. Indeterminate lung nodules are small growths in the lungs that cannot be easily classified as cancerous or non-cancerous. PET-negative means that the nodules did not show up on a PET scan, a type of imaging test that helps to find cancer cells.

Participants in this study will undergo either a pathologic examination, which involves testing tissue samples, or have follow-up chest CT scans over at least two years to monitor changes in the nodules. CT scans are detailed X-ray images that help doctors see inside the body.

  • Who can participate: The study is open to patients with indeterminate lung nodules that are PET-negative. Participants should be willing to undergo pathologic examination or serial chest CT examinations for at least two years. Age criteria for participation may apply.
  • Study details: Participants will undergo either a pathologic examination or serial chest CT scans for a minimum of two years to monitor their lung nodules.
