The purpose of this study is to examine the use of the different past tenses in Puerto Rican Spanish because it is assumed that some structures, such as the preterit and imperfect, are stable and do not present instances of variation.

The purpose of this study is to examine the use of the different past tenses in Puerto Rican Spanish because it is assumed that some structures, such as the preterit and imperfect, are stable and do not present instances of variation.

Eligibility of study

You may be eligible for this study if you meet the following criteria:

  • Conditions: Healthy
  • Age: 100 years or below
  • Gender: All

This study investigates the use of different past tenses in Puerto Rican Spanish. The focus is on understanding how certain structures, such as the preterit and imperfect tenses, are used and whether they show variation in their usage.

Participants in the study will be involved in tasks that assess their use of these past tense forms. This will help in understanding the stability and variability of past tense structures in Puerto Rican Spanish.

  • Who can participate: The study is open to native speakers of Puerto Rican Spanish, aged 18 and over, who have a good understanding of the language's past tense forms.
