The purpose of this study is to explore whether learners of German can reliably categorize speech sounds heard in German and to which English speech sound categories they relate various German speech sounds.

The purpose of this study is to explore whether learners of German can reliably categorize speech sounds heard in German and to which English speech sound categories they relate various German speech sounds. This study investigates how people learning German understand and organize the sounds they hear in the language.
Participants will listen to different German speech sounds and categorize them. This process helps researchers understand the connection between German sounds and their English equivalents.
- Who can participate: Participants aged 18-35 who are native English speakers and currently learning German are eligible to participate.
- Study details: Participants will be asked to listen to German speech sounds and categorize them according to how they relate to their English sound categories.
