The purpose of this study is to explore acquisition of conventional expressions by American English speakers learning L2 Chinese (Mandarin).

The purpose of this study is to explore acquisition of conventional expressions by American English speakers learning L2 Chinese (Mandarin).

Eligibility of study

You may be eligible for this study if you meet the following criteria:

  • Conditions: Healthy
  • Age: 100 years or below
  • Gender: All

This study investigates how American English speakers learn conventional expressions in Mandarin, which is also known as L2 Chinese. Conventional expressions are common phrases or sayings used in everyday conversation.

Participants will engage in activities to assess their understanding and use of these expressions. The study will help researchers understand how language learners acquire and use common phrases in a new language.

  • Who can participate: The study is open to American English speakers aged 18-35 who are learning Mandarin as a second language.
  • Study details: Participants will be involved in activities that test their knowledge and use of Mandarin expressions. These activities are designed to evaluate language acquisition skills.
