Brief description of study.

The purpose of this study is to assess the patient scar experience for the first year following a burn injury and determine the impact pressure therapy has on patient scar satisfaction. This study will also evaluate burn scar progression objectively and compare these measurements to the patient's satisfaction of their outcomes.

The purpose of this study is to assess the patient scar experience for the first year following a burn injury and determine the impact pressure therapy has on patient scar satisfaction. This study will also evaluate burn scar progression objectively and compare these measurements to the patient's satisfaction of their outcomes.

Eligibility of study

You may be eligible for this study if you meet the following criteria:

  • Conditions: autografting
  • Age: 100 years or below
  • Gender: All

The purpose of this study is to assess the patient scar experience for the first year following a burn injury and determine the impact pressure therapy has on patient scar satisfaction. This study will also evaluate burn scar progression objectively and compare these measurements to the patient's satisfaction of their outcomes.

Participants will undergo evaluations of their burn scars using objective measurements. They will be asked about their satisfaction with their scars and the outcomes of their treatment. The study will compare these satisfaction levels with the objective measurements of scar progression.

  • Who can participate: Participants aged 18 and older who have experienced a burn injury within the past month are eligible. Key eligibility criteria include no previous history of pressure therapy and no contraindications to wearing compression garments.
  • Study details: Participants will have their burn scars evaluated using objective measurements and will report their satisfaction with their scars and treatment outcomes.
