Brief description of study.

The purpose of this study is to evaluate how heart failure affects functionality. This study will use a 6 minute walk test to determine functional capacity at different points during their hospital stay, Days 1,2,3,5, based on measurements of how far they can walk during a 6-minute test.

Eligibility of study

You may be eligible for this study if you meet the following criteria:

  • Conditions: Acute Heart Failure
  • Age: 100 years or below
  • Gender: All

This study investigates how heart failure affects a person's ability to function. Heart failure is a condition where the heart cannot pump blood as well as it should. This study uses a 6-minute walk test, which measures how far a person can walk in six minutes, to assess functional capacity.

Participants will undergo the 6-minute walk test at different times during their hospital stay, specifically on Days 1, 2, 3, and 5. This test helps to understand changes in their functional capacity over time.

  • Who can participate: Adults aged 18 and older diagnosed with heart failure are eligible to participate. Key eligibility factors include stable medical condition and ability to perform the walk test.
  • Study details: Participants will take part in a 6-minute walk test, which involves walking as far as possible in six minutes. This test is used to measure how well their body is functioning during their hospital stay.
