This study investigates the effect of generative music soundtracks in video games on the player's experience of flow. Flow is a state of being fully immersed and focused on an activity, often leading to enjoyment and productivity. This study aims to compare the impact of generative music, which is music created in real-time by a computer program, to traditional video game soundtracks on enhancing this immersive experience.
Participants in this study will engage in gameplay sessions where they will experience both generative and traditional music soundtracks. Their subjective experience of flow will be assessed through questionnaires and feedback sessions. This will help determine if generative music can enhance the gaming experience more effectively than conventional soundtracks.
- Who can participate: No specific eligibility criteria.
- Study details: Participants will play video games with different types of music soundtracks. They will provide feedback on their experience of flow, which is the feeling of being fully engaged in the game.
