The purpose of this study is to test the effectiveness of different elaborative methods in the learning of music, and to learn more about the extent to which music learning and performance engages both our declarative and procedural memories.

Eligibility of study

You may be eligible for this study if you meet the following criteria:

  • Conditions: Healthy
  • Age: 100 years or below
  • Gender: All

The purpose of this study is to test the effectiveness of different elaborative methods in the learning of music, and to learn more about the extent to which music learning and performance engages both our declarative and procedural memories. Declarative memory refers to the ability to recall facts and information, while procedural memory involves remembering how to perform tasks.

Participants in the study will engage in various music learning activities designed to test these methods. The study will involve assessing how different techniques impact the participants' ability to learn and perform music, focusing on the roles of both declarative and procedural memory.

  • Who can participate: Participants aged 18 and older who have an interest in music learning are eligible. Individuals should not have any neurological conditions that affect memory.
