Brief description of study.

The purpose of this study is to demonstrate non-inferiority of Fully Covered biliary SEMS to Uncovered biliary SEMS in biliary drainage for the pre-operative management of biliary obstructive symptoms caused by pancreatic cancer in patients undergoing neoadjuvant therapy.

Detailed description of study

The purpose of this study is to demonstrate non-inferiority of Fully Covered biliary SEMS to Uncovered biliary SEMS in biliary drainage for the pre-operative management of biliary obstructive symptoms caused by pancreatic cancer in patients undergoing neoadjuvant therapy.

Eligibility of study

You may be eligible for this study if you meet the following criteria:

  • Conditions: pancreatic cancer
  • Age: 100 years or below
  • Gender: All

This study investigates the effectiveness of two types of biliary stents, called Fully Covered and Uncovered biliary SEMS, in managing bile duct blockage symptoms in patients with pancreatic cancer. Bile duct blockage can cause serious health issues, and this study aims to find out if the Fully Covered stent is as good as the Uncovered stent for patients who are receiving therapy before surgery.

Participants in this study will undergo procedures to place either a Fully Covered or an Uncovered stent to help drain bile. These stents are small tubes inserted into the bile duct to relieve obstruction and improve bile flow, which is important for patients preparing for further cancer treatment.

  • Who can participate: Participants are typically adults diagnosed with pancreatic cancer experiencing bile duct obstruction.
  • Study details: Participants will receive either a Fully Covered or an Uncovered biliary stent to manage bile duct blockage symptoms. A stent is a small tube placed in the bile duct to help with drainage. No placebo is involved in this study.
