The purpose of this study is to determine whether prevention of malaria in pregnant women and in young children improves the child's learning ability.

The purpose of this study is to determine whether prevention of malaria in pregnant women and in young children improves the child's learning ability.

Eligibility of study

You may be eligible for this study if you meet the following criteria:

  • Conditions: malaria
  • Age: 100 years or below
  • Gender: All

This study investigates whether preventing malaria in pregnant women and young children can improve the learning ability of the child. Malaria is a disease caused by a parasite that is transmitted to humans through the bites of infected mosquitoes.

The study will involve different study arms where participants may receive an investigational medication or a placebo. A placebo is an inactive substance that looks like the investigational medicine but does not contain any medicine.

  • Who can participate: Participants must be pregnant women or young children. Specific age criteria and health conditions will be assessed for eligibility.
  • Study details: Participants will be part of study arms receiving either an investigational medication or a placebo.
