This study investigates the surgical treatment of a condition called Pierre Robin Sequence using a method known as Mandibular Distraction Osteogenesis. Pierre Robin Sequence is a condition present at birth that affects the lower jaw, tongue, and airway, making it difficult to breathe and eat.
Participants in the study will undergo a procedure called Mandibular Distraction Osteogenesis. This is a surgical method used to lengthen the lower jaw by gradually stretching the bone. The study will assess the clinical outcomes of this procedure to understand its effectiveness in treating Pierre Robin Sequence.
- Who can participate: Participants must be diagnosed with Pierre Robin Sequence and meet specific age criteria, typically infants or young children, as determined by the study guidelines.
- Study details: Participants will undergo a surgical procedure called Mandibular Distraction Osteogenesis, which involves gradually lengthening the lower jaw to improve breathing and eating in individuals with Pierre Robin Sequence.
