Time dependent Antibiotic Prophylaxis & Deep Tissue Infection Rate in Open Fractures
Factors Influencing Wound Infections After Open Fractures
Brief description of study.
The purpose of this study is to further clarify the factors associated with the development of significant wound infections after open fractures.
Detailed description of study
The purpose of this study is to further clarify the factors associated with the development of significant wound infections after open fractures.
Eligibility of study
You may be eligible for this study if you meet the following criteria:
- Conditions: open fractures
-
Age: 100 years or below
-
Gender: All
This study investigates the factors that lead to significant wound infections after open fractures. An open fracture is a type of bone break where the bone pierces through the skin, which can lead to infections. Understanding these factors can help in managing and preventing such infections.
Participants in the study will undergo various assessments to monitor their wound healing process. These assessments will help to identify any signs of infection and determine the factors that may contribute to the development of infections.
- Who can participate: The study is open to individuals aged 18 and older who have experienced open fractures.
- Study details: Participants will be monitored closely to track the healing of their wounds and identify any infections. This may involve regular check-ups and assessments by the study team. If applicable, a placebo may be used, defined as an inactive substance that looks like the investigational medicine/vaccine but does not contain any medicine.
