This study investigates how children with penetrating abdominal injuries can be treated without surgery. Penetrating abdominal trauma refers to injuries that break the skin and enter the body, affecting internal organs. The study aims to find out what factors contribute to the success of treating these injuries without needing an operation.
Participants in the study will undergo various procedures to monitor their recovery and assess the effectiveness of non-operative treatments. These procedures may include regular check-ups, imaging tests like X-rays or ultrasounds, and other non-invasive assessments to track healing and ensure there are no complications.
- Who can participate: The study is open to children aged 5 to 17 who have experienced penetrating abdominal trauma. Participants must be able to undergo non-operative management.
- Study details: Participants will be monitored through regular check-ups and imaging tests. They will not undergo surgery, as the focus is on non-operative management of their injuries.
