Retrospective Study to Investigate Bladder Repair Following Operation for Colovesical Fistula
Investigating Postoperative Care in Repair of Abnormal Colon-Bladder Connections
Brief description of study.
The purpose of this study is to determine the role of postoperative cystogram in patients undergoing colovesical fistula repair, to determine the length of requirement for foley catheterization following colovesical fistula repair, and to determine long term outcomes of patients undergoing colovesical fistula repair.
Detailed description of study
The purpose of this study is to determine the role of postoperative cystogram in patients undergoing colovesical fistula repair, to determine the length of requirement for foley catheterization following colovesical fistula repair, and to determine long term outcomes of patients undergoing colovesical fistula repair.
Eligibility of study
You may be eligible for this study if you meet the following criteria:
- Conditions: colovesical fistula
-
Age: 100 years or below
-
Gender: All
This study investigates the role of postoperative cystogram in patients who have undergone colovesical fistula repair. A colovesical fistula is an abnormal connection between the colon and the bladder, which can cause urinary issues. The study aims to assess how long a foley catheter, a tube inserted into the bladder to drain urine, is needed after the surgery and to evaluate the long-term outcomes for these patients.
Participants in the study will undergo procedures including a cystogram, which is an imaging test that helps visualize the bladder and check for leaks or other issues after surgery. The study will also collect data on the duration of foley catheter use and monitor the recovery and health of patients over time.
- Who can participate: Participants must be adults diagnosed with colovesical fistula who are scheduled for surgical repair. Key eligibility includes being 18 years or older and able to undergo imaging procedures.
- Study details: Participants will undergo a cystogram, an imaging test to check the bladder after surgery. The study will monitor the use of a foley catheter, a tube for draining urine, and track patient recovery.
