Detailed description of study

The purpose of this study is to assess the safety and efficacy of FMT in the Solid Organ Transplant population from our FMT database.

Eligibility of study

You may be eligible for this study if you meet the following criteria:

  • Conditions: C. difficile infection
  • Age: 100 years or below
  • Gender: All

This study investigates the safety and efficacy of FMT, which stands for Fecal Microbiota Transplantation, in individuals who have received solid organ transplants. Solid organ transplants involve replacing a failing organ, such as a liver or kidney, with a healthy one from a donor. FMT is a procedure where stool from a healthy donor is transplanted into the intestine of a patient to restore healthy bacteria.

Participants in this study will undergo procedures related to FMT, which involves the introduction of donor stool into their intestines. The goal is to observe how safe and effective this treatment is for those who have received a new organ, ensuring that it does not cause harm and improves health outcomes.

  • Who can participate: Individuals aged 18 and older who have received a solid organ transplant are eligible to participate in this study. Participants must be able to undergo FMT procedures.
  • Study details: Participants will receive FMT, which involves introducing donor stool into their intestines to restore healthy bacteria. The study will monitor the safety and effectiveness of this procedure in the transplant population. An inactive substance that looks like the investigational medicine/vaccine but does not contain any medicine may be used as a placebo, if applicable.
