Detailed description of study

The purpose of this study is to evaluate the impact of implementing a clinical decision support reminder for medical providers (i.e., nurses, clinical officers, medical officers, consultants) to improve tuberculosis case-finding andisoniazid preventative therapy(IPT) for adults living with HIV in western Kenya.

Eligibility of study

You may be eligible for this study if you meet the following criteria:

  • Conditions: HIV
  • Age: 100 years or below
  • Gender: All

This study investigates the use of a clinical decision support reminder to help medical providers, such as nurses and doctors, find cases of tuberculosis (TB) and provide isoniazid preventative therapy (IPT) for adults living with HIV in western Kenya. Tuberculosis is a serious lung disease, and isoniazid is a medicine used to prevent it.

The study involves implementing a system that reminds healthcare providers to check for TB and offer IPT to patients. This system is designed to improve the care and treatment of people with HIV by ensuring they receive the necessary preventative measures against TB.

  • Who can participate: Participants must be adults living with HIV, aged 18 years or older, who are receiving care at participating healthcare facilities in western Kenya.
  • Study details: Participants will be part of a system where healthcare providers receive reminders to check for TB and provide IPT.
