Improved Adherence to Published Guidelines for Identification of Cervical Spine Injuries through an Electronic Medial Record (EMR) Template
Investigating Template Use for Neck Region Spine Assessment Documentation
Brief description of study.
The purpose of this study is to determine if template use improves documentation of the physical assessment of the cervical spine in trauma patients in adherence to published guidelines of practice standards.
Detailed description of study
The purpose of this study is to determine if template use improves documentation of the physical assessment of the cervical spine in trauma patients in adherence to published guidelines of practice standards.
Eligibility of study
You may be eligible for this study if you meet the following criteria:
- Conditions: trauma
-
Age: 100 years or below
-
Gender: All
The purpose of this study is to determine if using a template improves the documentation of physical assessments of the cervical spine in trauma patients. The cervical spine is the neck region of the spine, and it can be injured in accidents or falls. This study aims to see if following a template helps healthcare providers follow guidelines better when checking the cervical spine.
Participants in the study will undergo physical assessments of their cervical spine, which involves checking the neck area for injuries. The study will use a template to guide the documentation process, ensuring that all necessary information is recorded according to practice standards.
- Who can participate: This study may be suitable for trauma patients needing cervical spine assessment.
- Study details: Participants will have their cervical spine assessed using a template to guide the documentation process. This ensures that the assessment follows published guidelines and practice standards. No placebo is used in this study.
