Detailed description of study

The purpose of this study is to evaluate the performance of the MALDI Sepsityper for the direct identification of Gram-negative bacilli from positive blood cultures.

Eligibility of study

You may be eligible for this study if you meet the following criteria:

  • Conditions: Healthy
  • Age: 100 years or below
  • Gender: All

The purpose of this study is to evaluate a method for identifying certain types of bacteria directly from blood samples. This study focuses on Gram-negative bacilli, which are a group of bacteria that can cause infections. The method being tested is called MALDI Sepsityper, which is a technique used to identify bacteria quickly and accurately.

Participants in the study will have their blood samples analyzed using the MALDI Sepsityper method. This involves testing the samples to see how well this method can identify the bacteria present. The study aims to determine the effectiveness of using this method for diagnosing bacterial infections.

  • Who can participate: Participants must meet specific age criteria and other eligibility factors, which will be detailed by the study coordinators.
  • Study details: Participants will provide blood samples for analysis. The study will use the MALDI Sepsityper method to identify bacteria in these samples. This method is being tested for its accuracy in identifying Gram-negative bacilli.
