Eligibility of study

You may be eligible for this study if you meet the following criteria:

  • Conditions: mental illness
  • Age: 100 years or below
  • Gender: All

This study investigates how discussions on social media platforms, like Reddit, can trivialize mental illnesses. Trivialization refers to making something seem less important or serious than it actually is. The study aims to understand the impact of these discussions on public perceptions of mental health conditions.

Participants will be exposed to mock user-generated content that mimics real discussions found online. This content will be analyzed to see how it affects the understanding and seriousness with which mental illnesses are perceived. The study does not involve any medication or treatment procedures.

  • Who can participate: The study is open to individuals aged 18 and above who are active users of social media platforms, particularly Reddit. Participants should be interested in discussions about mental health and willing to engage with mock content.
  • Study details: Participants will engage with simulated online discussions and provide feedback on their perceptions. No medication or physical procedures are involved in this study.
