A retrospective comparison of prostate MRI targeting and MRI-fusion biopsy to subsequent radical prostatectomy for MRI targeting efficacy in focal high intensity focused ultrasound (HIFU) ablation of the prostate
Study on MRI Fusion Biopsy Effectiveness in Prostate Disease
Brief description of study.
The purpose of this study is to characterize how well MRI fusion biopsy identifies disease within the prostate by studying men who have underwent a MRI fusion biopsy and subsequent radical prostatectomy.

Eligibility of study
You may be eligible for this study if you meet the following criteria:
- Conditions: prostate cancer
-
Age: 100 years or below
-
Gender: All
This study investigates how well MRI fusion biopsy can identify disease within the prostate. The researchers are focusing on men who have had both an MRI fusion biopsy and a radical prostatectomy. An MRI fusion biopsy combines MRI imaging with ultrasound to guide the biopsy needle to areas of concern in the prostate.
Participants in this study will have had a radical prostatectomy, which is a surgery to remove the prostate gland. The study will compare the biopsy results to the findings from the surgery to determine the accuracy of the MRI fusion biopsy.
- Who can participate: Men aged 40-75 who have undergone both an MRI fusion biopsy and a radical prostatectomy are eligible to participate. Additional eligibility factors include no prior radiation therapy or chemotherapy for prostate cancer.
- Study details: Participants will have previously undergone an MRI fusion biopsy and a radical prostatectomy. The study will involve comparing these results to assess the biopsy's accuracy.
