Brief description of study.

This study is as a retrospective database including clinical information from patients with soft tissue sarcomas seen at IUSCC during the period June 2010 ? June 2012 and treated with the specific chemotherapy agents, Cisplatin and Ifosfamide. Researchers propose to perform a retrospective record review of adult patients who had cisplatin and Ifosfamide sensitivity and resistance testing by Precision Therapeutics laboratory (Pittsburgh, PA). Researchers will determine whether there are perhaps 2 or 3 histologic subtypes of soft tissue sarcoma that are more likely to be sensitive or resistant to cisplatin. Researchers will record whether the patients ever received cisplatin or ifosfamide from June 2010 through June 2012 for the treatment of soft tissue sarcoma. Toxicity and response will be assessed in patients who were tested for cisplatin or ifosfamide sensitivity. Researchers will also determine if there was correlation of clinical response with laboratory live tissue testing.

Eligibility of study

You may be eligible for this study if you meet the following criteria:

  • Conditions: soft tissue sarcoma
  • Age: 100 years or below
  • Gender: All

This study investigates the treatment of soft tissue sarcomas, a type of cancer that occurs in the connective tissues of the body. The purpose is to review past medical records of patients treated with certain chemotherapy agents to understand how different types of sarcomas respond to these treatments.

The study looks at patients who were treated with specific chemotherapy medications and had tests to see how their tumors reacted. Researchers will check if there is a link between the test results and how well the patients responded to the treatment.

  • Who can participate: This study involves reviewing records of adult patients with soft tissue sarcomas treated between June 2010 and June 2012. Participants must have undergone testing to determine chemotherapy effectiveness.
  • Study details: Participants' records will be reviewed to assess their response to chemotherapy and any side effects. The study will also examine if laboratory test results matched treatment outcomes.
