The purpose of this study is to determine whether seeing open-ended gender demographic questions or those that allow for multiple selections will reduce participants' endorsement of gender essentialist beliefs.

This study investigates how different types of gender demographic questions might influence people's beliefs about gender. Gender essentialist beliefs are the idea that men and women have fixed traits that are different from each other.
