The purpose of this study is the acquisition of fresh nasal swab (NS) and fresh or leftover nasopharyngeal (NP) swab specimens from patients with signs and symptoms of respiratory infection.

The purpose of this study is the acquisition of fresh nasal swab (NS) and fresh or leftover nasopharyngeal (NP) swab specimens from patients with signs and symptoms of respiratory infection.
Eligibility of study
You may be eligible for this study if you meet the following criteria:
- Conditions: respiratory infection

Age: 100 years or below

Gender: All
The purpose of this study is to collect fresh nasal swab (NS) and fresh or leftover nasopharyngeal (NP) swab specimens from patients. These patients show signs and symptoms of respiratory infection, which may include coughing, sneezing, and difficulty breathing. Nasopharyngeal refers to the upper part of the throat behind the nose.
Participants will undergo procedures to collect nasal and nasopharyngeal swabs. A nasal swab involves gently inserting a small stick with a soft tip into the nostril to collect a sample. A nasopharyngeal swab is similar but goes a bit deeper to the back of the nose.
- Who can participate: Patients aged 18 and older showing signs of respiratory infection such as coughing and sneezing are eligible.
- Study details: Participants will provide nasal and nasopharyngeal swab samples for the study.
