Investigating Dietary Patterns and Sodium Intake on Blood Pressure in Teens
Brief description of study.
The purpose of this study is to compare the effect of two dietary patterns and two levels of sodium intake on blood pressure and blood lipids in adolescents in the upper third of distribution for blood pressure.

Eligibility of study
You may be eligible for this study if you meet the following criteria:
- Conditions: Healthy
-
Age: 11 years - 15 years
-
Gender: All
This study investigates how different diets and sodium levels affect blood pressure and blood lipids in teens. Blood lipids are fats in the blood, like cholesterol, that can affect heart health. The focus is on adolescents with higher blood pressure readings.
Participants will follow specific dietary patterns and sodium intake levels. The study will measure changes in blood pressure and blood lipids to understand the effects of these dietary changes.
- Who can participate: Teens aged 13-17 who have blood pressure readings in the upper third of the distribution are eligible.
- Study details: Participants will follow specific diets with varying sodium levels to see how these affect their blood pressure and blood lipids.
