Variation in Management and Cost of Choledocholithiasis: A Retrospective Study
Study on Management Variations in Choledocholithiasis (Stones in the Bile Duct)
Brief description of study.
Our clinical observation is that great variation exists within each intervention in the management of choledocholithiasis. This variation is often based on surgeon or interventionalist preference. We hypothesize that these variations may account for differences in cost and effectiveness of treatment. We aim to characterize differences in management and determine their impact on patient outcomes.

Eligibility of study
You may be eligible for this study if you meet the following criteria:
- Conditions: choledocholithiasis
-
Age: 100 years or below
-
Gender: All
This study investigates the different ways choledocholithiasis, a condition involving stones in the bile duct, is managed. The purpose is to understand how different methods used by surgeons or interventionalists may affect the cost and success of treatments.
Participants in the study will undergo various procedures to manage choledocholithiasis. The study will help in identifying which management techniques lead to better patient outcomes.
- Who can participate: The study is open to individuals aged 18 and older diagnosed with choledocholithiasis.
- Study details: Participants will be assigned to different investigational study arms based on the management technique used by their healthcare provider. The study will compare the effectiveness and cost of each approach.
