Eligibility of study

You may be eligible for this study if you meet the following criteria:

  • Conditions: endocarditis
  • Age: 100 years or below
  • Gender: All

This study investigates the impact of infectious endocarditis, a condition where the inner lining of the heart becomes infected, in individuals who use intravenous drugs. The goal is to understand how widespread this condition is across the state.

Participants will undergo various procedures to assess the presence and impact of endocarditis. This might include medical exams, imaging studies, and laboratory tests to gather comprehensive data on the condition.

  • Who can participate: Participants must be adults aged 18 and over, who have a history of intravenous drug use. Additional eligibility criteria may apply.
  • Study details: Participants will be involved in assessments that may include medical exams and tests to evaluate heart health and detect infections. If a placebo is used, it will be an inactive substance that looks like the investigational medicine but does not contain any medicine.
