Brief description of study.

The purpose of this study is to test the validity of the standard practice in radiation therapy of positioning the target relative to the beam in each treatment session by translating the couch holding the patient to align introduced fiducials or natural landmarks on a pair of imaged orthogonal projections relative to their pre-planned positions.

Detailed description of study

The purpose of this study is to test the validity of the standard practice in radiation therapy of positioning the target relative to the beam in each treatment session by translating the couch holding the patient to align introduced fiducials or natural landmarks on a pair of imaged orthogonal projections relative to their pre-planned positions.

Eligibility of study

You may be eligible for this study if you meet the following criteria:

  • Conditions: prostate cancer,pancreatic cancer,soft tissue sarcoma
  • Age: 100 years or below
  • Gender: All

The purpose of this study is to investigate the standard practice used in radiation therapy. This involves positioning the target area in relation to the radiation beam during each treatment session. The study will focus on the method of adjusting the patient's position using the treatment couch to align specific markers or natural body landmarks with their planned locations.

Participants will undergo procedures that involve imaging techniques to capture orthogonal projections. These projections help in aligning the treatment area accurately by comparing them to pre-planned positions. This process ensures that the radiation beam targets the correct area during therapy sessions.

  • Who can participate: Participants must be adults aged 18 years and older. Key eligibility factors include a diagnosis requiring radiation therapy and the ability to undergo imaging procedures.
  • Study details: Participants will be positioned using a treatment couch to align specific markers or natural landmarks. Imaging techniques will be used to ensure accurate alignment with pre-planned positions.
