Brief description of study.

The purpose of this study is to examine if the institution of pharacologic VTE prophylaxis is associated with the incidence and severity of vasospasm due to subarachnoid hemorrhage.

Detailed description of study

The purpose of this study is to examine if the institution of pharacologic VTE prophylaxis is associated with the incidence and severity of vasospasm due to subarachnoid hemorrhage.

Eligibility of study

You may be eligible for this study if you meet the following criteria:

  • Conditions: cerebral vasospasm
  • Age: 100 years or below
  • Gender: All

This study investigates the effects of using medication to prevent venous thromboembolism (VTE) on the occurrence and seriousness of vasospasm in patients with subarachnoid hemorrhage. Subarachnoid hemorrhage is a condition where bleeding occurs in the space surrounding the brain, and vasospasm is a complication that involves the narrowing of blood vessels, which can lead to further brain injury.

Participants in this study will receive either the investigational medication to prevent VTE or a placebo, which is an inactive substance that looks like the investigational medication but does not contain any medicine. The study will monitor the incidence and severity of vasospasm in these patients.

  • Who can participate: The study is open to individuals aged 18 and older who have experienced a subarachnoid hemorrhage and meet other health criteria.
  • Study details: Participants will be assigned to receive either the investigational medication or a placebo. The study will track the effects on vasospasm.
