Treatment of Acetabular Fractures with Both Column Involvement Through an Anterior Approach Compared to Dual Anterior and Posterior Approaches
Study on Surgical Approaches for Acetabulum Fractures
Brief description of study.
The purpose of this study is to compare outcomes of the anterior intrapelvic approach and dual stage approach in the treatment of acetabulum fractures involving both columns, anterior column posterior hemitransverse, and T-type acetabular fractures.
Detailed description of study
The purpose of this study is to compare outcomes of the anterior intrapelvic approach and dual stage approach in the treatment of acetabulum fractures involving both columns, anterior column posterior hemitransverse, and T-type acetabular fractures.
Eligibility of study
You may be eligible for this study if you meet the following criteria:
- Conditions: Acetabular Fracture
-
Age: 100 years or below
-
Gender: All
The purpose of this study is to compare outcomes of the anterior intrapelvic approach and dual stage approach in the treatment of acetabulum fractures. Acetabulum fractures involve breaks in the socket of the hip bone, which can affect mobility and stability. This study focuses on three types of fractures: those involving both columns, anterior column posterior hemitransverse, and T-type acetabular fractures. These terms describe different patterns of breaks in the hip socket.
Participants in this study will undergo either the anterior intrapelvic approach or the dual stage approach for their fracture treatment. The anterior intrapelvic approach involves accessing the fracture through the front of the pelvis, while the dual stage approach may involve two separate procedures to address the fracture. The study will compare recovery outcomes between these two surgical methods.
- Who can participate: Participants must be adults aged 18 to 65 with acetabulum fractures. Key eligibility factors include the type of fracture and overall health status.
- Study details: Participants will receive surgery using one of two methods to treat their acetabulum fractures. The study will monitor recovery to compare the effectiveness of these methods.
