Detailed description of study

The purpose of this study is to establish performance characteristics of a new carbapenemase resistance marker in the Phoenix System.

Eligibility of study

You may be eligible for this study if you meet the following criteria:

  • Conditions: Healthy
  • Age: 100 years or below
  • Gender: All

This study investigates a carbapenemase resistance marker in the Phoenix System. Carbapenemase is an enzyme that makes bacteria resistant to antibiotics called carbapenems, which are often used as a last resort to treat severe infections. Understanding how this resistance marker works can help researchers develop better ways to detect and manage antibiotic resistance.

Participants in the study will undergo procedures to test the effectiveness of the carbapenemase resistance marker. These procedures will help determine how well the marker identifies resistant bacteria compared to current methods.

  • Who can participate: Participants should generally be adults who have experienced infections treated with carbapenems or have a history of antibiotic resistance.
  • Study details: Participants will be involved in testing procedures to evaluate the carbapenemase resistance marker. A placebo will not be used in this study.
