Brief description of study.

The purpose of this study is to determine the predominant mindset (growth v fixed) is in first and second year medical students. It also aims to determine the students' perceived stress levels and whether the students' mindset and stress is correlated. This study will also be examining the extent to which mindset and perceived stress correlate with NBME scores in all Phase 1 course and USMLE Step 1 scores.

Detailed description of study

The purpose of this study is to determine the predominant mindset (growth v fixed) is in first and second year medical students. It also aims to determine the students' perceived stress levels and whether the students' mindset and stress is correlated. This study will also be examining the extent to which mindset and perceived stress correlate with NBME scores in all Phase 1 course and USMLE Step 1 scores.

Eligibility of study

You may be eligible for this study if you meet the following criteria:

  • Conditions: healthy
  • Age: 100 years or below
  • Gender: All

This study investigates the predominant mindset, either growth or fixed, among first and second-year medical students. A growth mindset is the belief that abilities can be developed through dedication, while a fixed mindset is the belief that abilities are static. The study also examines the students' perceived stress levels and explores if there is a correlation between their mindset and stress.

Additionally, this study will look at how mindset and perceived stress relate to performance on the NBME exams, which are standardized tests in medical education, and the USMLE Step 1, a licensing exam for medical students.

  • Who can participate: Participants must be first or second-year medical students. No other specific eligibility criteria are provided.
