Exercise Recovery Following Right Ventricular Outflow Reconstruction in Patients With Severe Pulmonary Regurgitation: A Follow-up Study
Investigation of Exercise Capacity and Cardiac Health in Adults Post-PVR
Brief description of study.
This study aims to determine if these patients experienced improved exercise capacity or cardiac hemodynamics in the long-term, namely 8-12 years post-PVR. We will do so by reengaging this cohort, and comparing their exercise stress test (EST) data, echocardiographic data, MRI data, and quality of life scores. The subjects are now all adults, no children will be recruited for this study.

Eligibility of study
You may be eligible for this study if you meet the following criteria:
- Conditions: Severe Pulmonary Regurgitation
-
Age: 100 years or below
-
Gender: All
This study investigates how exercise capacity and heart function have changed in adults who had pulmonary valve replacement (PVR) surgery 8 to 12 years ago. We will gather data by conducting exercise stress tests, echocardiograms, MRI scans, and quality of life surveys to assess these changes.
Participants will undergo various procedures including exercise stress tests, which measure how well the heart works during physical activity, and echocardiograms, which use sound waves to create images of the heart. MRI scans will provide detailed images of the heart's structure, and quality of life surveys will assess participants' overall well-being.
- Who can participate: Adults who had pulmonary valve replacement surgery 8 to 12 years ago are eligible. No children will be recruited.
- Study details: Participants will take part in exercise stress tests and imaging procedures such as echocardiograms and MRI scans. They will also complete surveys about their quality of life.
- Study Timelines: The study will last 8 to 12 years post-PVR.
