Brief description of study.

The purpose of this study is 1) To determine the overall rate of successful His-bundle lead placement at the time of implant of CRT, and 2)To assess the impact of HBP versus CS pacing on acute and mid-term outcomes. Acute outcomes include incidence of periprocedural complication and change in QRS duration pre-and post-pacing.

The purpose of this study is 1) To determine the overall rate of successful His-bundle lead placement at the time of implant of CRT, and 2)To assess the impact of HBP versus CS pacing on acute and mid-term outcomes. Acute outcomes include incidence of periprocedural complication and change in QRS duration pre-and post-pacing.

Eligibility of study

You may be eligible for this study if you meet the following criteria:

  • Conditions: heart failure
  • Age: 100 years or below
  • Gender: All

This study investigates the success rate of placing leads in a specific area of the heart called the His-bundle during the implant of a cardiac resynchronization therapy (CRT) device. The His-bundle is a collection of heart muscle cells specialized in electrical conduction. The study also examines the effects of pacing through the His-bundle compared to another method called CS pacing on short- and medium-term health outcomes.

Participants in the study will undergo procedures to place the His-bundle lead and monitor changes in heart function, specifically looking at the incidence of complications during the procedure and changes in the heart's electrical activity before and after pacing.
