A Retrospective analysis of Genomic Sequencing in Veterans with Malignancy
Study on Genomic Testing Patterns in Cancer Care
Brief description of study.
This is a descriptive retrospective analysis to understand the patterns of incorporating genomic testing in the care of cancer patients at the Indianapolis VA. We will aim to describe the concordance of these patterns with existing guidelines, and thus regulate the use of this investigation at the VA as a quality measure. We will also identify patterns of gene mutations in various cancers that may be specific to our veteran population due to their unique exposure risk profiles. The ultimate goal of this research is to strengthen the genomic program at the Indianapolis VA and then expand this care model to other VA's nationally as well.

Eligibility of study
You may be eligible for this study if you meet the following criteria:
- Conditions: cancer
-
Age: 100 years or below
-
Gender: All
This study investigates the use of genomic testing in cancer care for veterans at the Indianapolis VA. Genomic testing looks at a person's genes to find mutations that might be linked to cancer. The study aims to see how genomic testing fits with current guidelines and to identify any unique gene mutation patterns in veterans, who might have different exposure risks.
The study will review past records to understand how genomic testing is used in cancer treatment. By analyzing these patterns, the research seeks to improve the quality and effectiveness of genomic testing at the VA.
- Who can participate: Participants must be veterans who have received cancer care at the Indianapolis VA. There are no specific age restrictions, but individuals must have existing genomic testing records for inclusion in this retrospective study.
- Study details: Participants will not need to take any action as this is a retrospective analysis using existing records.
