Psychometric Properties of the Child Coping Scale in Inpatient Hospital Settings

The primary aim of this study is to examine the psychometric properties (reliability and validity) of the Child Observed Coping Scale and Child Coping Scale within an inpatient population to determine its suitability for use in this population. Secondary aims include examining the coping styles of differing groups (e.g., admission for suicide attempt vs. new medical diagnosis) as well as the development of targeted brief interventions for varying coping styles.
