Eligibility of study

You may be eligible for this study if you meet the following criteria:

  • Conditions: gastroesophageal reflux disease
  • Age: 100 years or below
  • Gender: All

This study investigates the differences in clinical outcomes between two surgical procedures, Nissen fundoplication and GJ tube placement, in children. Nissen fundoplication is a surgery that helps prevent stomach acid from moving up into the esophagus, while a GJ tube is used for feeding directly into the stomach or small intestine.

Participants will undergo one of the two procedures, either Nissen fundoplication or GJ tube placement, at Riley Hospital for Children. The study will compare the results of these procedures to understand the effects on the children's health.

  • Who can participate: The study is open to children aged X to Y who are potential candidates for either Nissen fundoplication or GJ tube placement at Riley Hospital for Children.
  • Study details: Participants will undergo one of the two procedures: Nissen fundoplication or GJ tube placement. The study will monitor and compare the outcomes of these procedures.
