Comparisons of Maternal and Neonatal Glyphosate Levels a Pilot Study
Study on Chemical Exposure Effects During Pregnancy
Brief description of study.
The purpose of this study is to estimate fetal exposure from maternal biomeasures of exposure and to investigate further whether GLY exposure (and other chemical exposures such as atrazine, etc.) impairs fetal growth, pregnancy duration, and potentiates fetal DNA epigenetic changes.
Detailed description of study
The purpose of this study is to estimate fetal exposure from maternal biomeasures of exposure and to investigate further whether GLY exposure (and other chemical exposures such as atrazine, etc.) impairs fetal growth, pregnancy duration, and potentiates fetal DNA epigenetic changes.
Eligibility of study
You may be eligible for this study if you meet the following criteria:
- Conditions: Healthy
-
Age: 100 years or below
-
Gender: All
The purpose of this study is to investigate whether exposure to certain chemicals during pregnancy affects fetal growth and development. The study specifically looks at chemicals like GLY and atrazine, which are substances that might be found in the environment. Researchers want to understand if these chemicals can change how long a pregnancy lasts or if they can cause changes in the baby's DNA, which is the material in our cells that carries genetic information.
Participants in the study will undergo various procedures to measure the levels of these chemicals in their bodies. By doing this, researchers hope to determine how much of these substances the baby is exposed to during pregnancy. The study will not involve any treatment, but it will require collecting samples from the participants to analyze the chemical levels.
- Who can participate: The study is open to pregnant women aged 18 and over who may have been exposed to chemicals like GLY and atrazine. Participants must be willing to provide biological samples for analysis.
- Study details: Participants will undergo procedures to provide samples for analysis of chemical exposure levels. The study does not involve taking any medication or treatment.
