Improving Estimates of Mother-to-Child Transmission in Western Kenya: A Mixed Methods Prospective Cohort Study
Brief description of study.
In sub-Saharan Africa, maternal and infant attrition along the prevention of mother-to-child transmission (PMTCT) cascade remains a central barrier to eliminating mother-to-child transmission (MTCT) of HIV. The objective of this study is to refine MTCT estimates through a prospective cohort study of retained in care and disengaged women and their HIV-exposed infants, and to understand the factors that influence retention in PMTCT care in western Kenya.
