The purpose of the study is to understand musicians' preparation processes for sight-reading and to understand the ways that musicians mentally organize the materials of a musical score.

The purpose of the study is to understand musicians' preparation processes for sight-reading and to understand the ways that musicians mentally organize the materials of a musical score.

Eligibility of study

You may be eligible for this study if you meet the following criteria:

  • Conditions: healthy
  • Age: 100 years or below
  • Gender: All

The purpose of this study is to investigate how musicians prepare for sight-reading. Sight-reading is when musicians play a piece of music they have not seen before. The study aims to learn how musicians mentally organize the materials in a musical score, which is the written music they read from.

Participants will be asked to perform sight-reading tasks and explain their preparation process. The study will look at how they arrange and understand the notes and symbols in the music to play it accurately.
