COOPERATE is a randomized controlled trial testing an intervention to improve Black Veterans? active participation in their pain care by focusing on 2 essential skill sets: 1) goal-setting and prioritization, and 2) communication skills.
Eligibility of study
You may be eligible for this study if you meet the following criteria:

Age: 100 years or below

This study investigates ways to enhance the involvement of Black Veterans in managing their pain by developing two key skill sets: setting goals and prioritizing them, as well as improving communication skills. The study aims to empower participants in their pain management process.
Participants in the study will engage in activities designed to strengthen their ability to set and prioritize personal goals related to pain management. They will also receive training to enhance their communication skills, which are crucial for effective interaction with healthcare providers.
- Who can participate: The study is open to Black Veterans aged 18 and older who are interested in improving their pain management skills.
- Study details: Participants will learn to set goals and communicate effectively about their pain care. The study does not involve any medication, but focuses on skills training.
